Tangled - Emma Chase

Tangled (The Tangled Series Book 1) by [Chase, Emma]Title - Tangled
Author - Emma Chase

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

This has received sooo much praise; readers claiming that this is how books should be written.

I enjoyed this story a lot although at times i did feel more like i was being told the story but that is expected due to the writing style I laughed through portions and I loved Kate; she was a pretty kick arse character; she was more of a role model than Cinderella any day.

I particularly enjoyed it when Drew told McKenzie his niece to forget about finding a prince and living in his castle; to go to college and get a good job and buy her own.

Drew has many gems of knowledge and I particularly enjoyed his relationship with McKenzie.

I usually hate kids in books; they are needy and whiny and i just want to lock them in a closet but i wanted to adopt McKenzie she was fantastic.

I felt that the middle of this book was a little slow; I understood why as those chapters are needed to fully understand the story.

This could so easily be made into a movie! I would love that. I cant wait to read more from Ms Chase.

This story was a bit - over the top. It wasn't very realistic but that's what we read for isn't it; we read for escapism of things that may be far fetched but we love it. Plus we all know an amazing girl or guy who is saddled with the wrong man and we just want to shout at them 'you can do better'.

I know a guy just like Drew; guess what, he hits on me every chance he gets!
